Parliamentary Elections: A Tour with the Commission
Participation Kateryna, 84 Lidya, 79 Process

September 30th, 2007: again, a new election in Ukraine. Since 2004 and the so-called Orange Revolution, the political situation is not stable – three elections in three years. Yesterday allies, tomorrow enemies: the political forces and leaders are fighting for the power and most of the Ukrainains are getting very tired of what they usually call the “big circus.”
For these snap parliamentary elections, I won’t bother you with the stakes, the causes and the consequences, or any personal analysis… If you need such material, you will find plenty of websites dealing with these issues.
My idea is just to show part of the reality of the elections in Ukraine. Indeed, in Ukraine, for elderly and disabled people, a moving commission of three persons goes from home to home so that these people can vote without leaving their house.
During several hours, I went across a small town with one of these commissions. It was in Verxhnodniprovsk, in Dnipropetrovsk region, in the Eastern part of Ukraine.
